Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered the construction of a new bomb shelter at the country’s most high-class hospital where high-rank officials are treated. A government website has given information about this. It is reported that an order has been given to build a bomb shelter at the Moscow Central Clinical Hospital. It will be ready by December this year. The project is estimated to cost 35 million rubles ($431,000).
Independent Russian newspaper The Moscow Times has cited a Russian website in its report. Mediazona reported that senior Russian officials are being treated at a Moscow-based hospital. It was said in the report that Putin himself had undergone treatment in this hospital. The bomb shelter will accommodate 800 people, including medical personnel and staff.
Putin Upgrading Bomb Shelters
It will also protect from radiation. It will have multiple entry gates, an emergency exit and a ventilation system that will be able to clean the air inside. Medical staff will also be given training to deal with war situations. The Moscow Times previously reported that the Kremlin had ordered an upgrade of bomb shelters across Russia by October 2022. It is claimed that the repair processes of bomb shelters have started in Russia.
Kyiv’s Drones Reach Moscow?
Putin ordered the construction of bomb shelters when Russia blamed Ukraine for a major drone attack on Moscow. It was the first attack on Moscow since the war began in February last year. Russia’s Defense Ministry accused Ukraine of carrying out a “terrorist attack” with at least eight drones. Although Ukraine has denied this. On May 3, two drones crashed into the Kremlin building in Moscow, also blamed on Ukraine.
