On Saturday, a major lapse was allegedly seen in the security of US President Joe Biden, who had come to participate in the G-20 summit being held in the Indian capital, Delhi. The vehicle included in Biden’s convoy was caught by security personnel while taking passengers to another hotel on Saturday morning. This car had passes related to entering the hotel and Pragati Maidan.
As soon as the incident was known, various security agencies appeared. During interrogation, it was found that this car was included in Biden’s convoy. It was to go from ITC Maurya Hotel to Pragati Maidan, but before that, the driver started using the vehicle to bring passengers.
Biden is staying at the ITC Maurya Hotel in New Delhi. On Saturday, about 60 vehicles were included in the American convoy to go from the hotel to the event venue at Pragati Maidan. Some vehicles have come from America, while others have been provided from India. Some of these vehicles have been taken on rent. This included an Ertiga car with a Haryana number to lead the convoy.
The convoy of the US President was to leave the hotel at around 8 in the morning. Earlier, a passenger called Radheshyam, the Ertiga car driver, often used his car when he came to Delhi. He had to go to Hotel Taj Man Singh, so the driver went from Lodhi Estate to pick up the passenger and drop him to the hotel. The car had security passes, so he was not stopped anywhere, but the security personnel stopped him when he reached the hotel. The President of the UAE is staying in this hotel.
Various Agencies Interrogated For Several Hours
Since the matter was extremely sensitive, senior officials and security agencies were immediately informed. They took the driver into custody. Different agencies interrogated the driver as well as the passenger for several hours. Preliminary inquiry revealed that the driver had taken the vehicle with the sole intention of dropping off the passenger. At present, all the passes have been removed from this vehicle. Instead, on Saturday itself, another car was included in the convoy of the US President.
