A US military plane crashed near an island in southern Japan on Wednesday. According to an AFP report, eight people boarded the plane during the accident. Regarding this accident, the Japanese Coast Guard said that an American Osprey military aircraft carrying eight people had crashed on the coast.
A regional coast guard spokesman confirmed to NBC News that the plane crashed into the sea near Yakushima, south of Kyushu, the country’s southernmost main island. The spokesman said the plane belonged to the US military, but he could not say where the plane was at the time of the accident. He said no immediate information was available about the plane’s condition or the others on board.
Plane Fell After Fire
He further said that we received information today at 2:47 pm that the US Army’s Osprey crashed on Yakushima Island. According to the report, eyewitnesses present at the spot said that the left side of the plane was on fire during the accident.
In such a situation, the plane looked scary while falling. Japanese media reports have claimed that local fishermen have found a person in this incident. These fishermen are currently helping the Coast Guard in the search operation. Meanwhile, the search for the rest is going on.
Many Fatal Accidents Have Occurred Recently
Notably, there have been many fatal accidents involving aircraft in recent times. In August this year, an American plane met with an accident during military exercises in Australia, in which three people, including the pilot, died. A total of 23 American soldiers were on board the plane at the time of the accident. Earlier, in the year 2022, an Osprey plane had also crashed in California, USA, in which five American Marines had died.
