Kim Jong Un’s Sister Threatened To Reject American Offer, Vows More Satellite Launches

Kim Yo Jong, sister of North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un, has rejected the American proposal for face-to-face talks. Not only this, Yo Jong has vowed to launch more satellites. It is noteworthy that during the U.N. Security Council meeting earlier this week, U.S. Ambassador to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield had called the North’s satellite launch a ‘reckless and illegal’ step. Greenfield had said that this step of North Korea threatens its neighbours.

Kim’s sister and senior official Kim Yo Jong rejected the U.S. proposal on Thursday and threatened to launch more satellites and other weapons, ABC News reported. Kim Yo Jong said that our country is an independent state and, therefore, our country’s internal decisions can never be an agenda item for negotiations. Thus, North Korea will never meet with the U.S. for this purpose.

Our Right To Test Missiles

It is noteworthy that many resolutions of the United Nations Security Council have banned North Korea from launching satellites and conducting missile tests. North Korea has argued that it has the sovereign right to launch spy satellites and test ballistic missiles to deal with US-led military threats.

Kim’s Sister Asked America A Sharp Question

Kim Yo Jong said that last Monday, the United Nations Security Council meeting was called on the demand of America and its followers. He said Thomas-Greenfield should first explain why U.S. strategic assets are often seen at South Korean ports instead of calling North Korea’s satellite launches illegal. Let us tell you that North Korea placed its first spy military satellite in orbit last week, which is considered a threat to America, South Korea and Japan.

Kim’s Focus On Nuclear Weapons

It is known that in the year 2018, Kim Jong Un and then U.S. President Donald Trump started diplomacy on the future of North Korea’s growing nuclear arsenal. But a year later, in 2019, their diplomacy broke down due to disputes over international economic sanctions on North Korea. Kim Jong Un has since focused on expanding and modernizing his nuclear arsenal.
