China’s Hypersonic Missiles Are A Threat, But Japan Has An Answer

Japan is making a long-range anti-ship missile to deal with the threat of China in the sea. The Japanese Defense Ministry has entrusted the work of making this missile to Kawasaki Heavy Industries. The cost of making this island defence anti-ship missile is about $ 257 million.

This missile will have a turbofan engine with a range of 2000 km. It has also been said that this missile will have a modular warhead, which can be used in missions like land attacks, electronic warfare, and surveillance.

Japanese Missile Will Reach The Enemy At Any Cost

As reported by The Warzone, the Japanese missile will use multiple guidance systems in different phases of flight. During the cruise phase, it will be equipped with Global Positioning System (GPS) and Inertial Navigation System (INS) and during the terminal phase, it will have the capability to reach its target through Infrared (IR) or Radio Frequency (RF). This missile will also avoid enemy air defence and radio jamming. Apart from this, this missile will have the highest probability of hitting its target.

Japan Will Fire Many Missiles For One Mission

According to the report, Japan’s island defence anti-ship missile will be six to ten meters long. This missile will fly at a speed of high subsonic Mach 0.8. Reports have shown that launching multiple types of missiles for a single attack can significantly improve accuracy.

A reconnaissance missile carries a high-resolution camera to locate the enemy’s position, after which an electronic warfare missile can be fired to turn off enemy radars and other sensors. After this, the enemy can be finished in the blink of an eye by firing a missile with gunpowder.

Japan Is Scared Of Chinese Missiles

In the face of increasing missile threats from China and North Korea, Japan is expanding its long-range strike capability. China alone has 1900 ground-launched intermediate-range ballistic missiles. Apart from this, China also has 300 intermediate-range cruise missiles which can hit Japan. North Korea also has hundreds of ballistic missiles that can attack Japan. China now also has warships equipped with hypersonic missiles. China has deployed the YJ-21 hypersonic missile on the Type 055 cruiser.

There Is A Dispute Between Japan and China About The Islands

China and Japan have a dispute over the Senkaku Islands. Japan currently occupies the island. This island group of Japan is known as Senkaku or Tonoshiro. At the same time, it is called the Diaoyu Islands in China and Taiwan. This island group is located in the East China Sea.

It consists of eight islands whose total area is 7 km. They are located northeast of Taiwan, east of the Chinese mainland, and southwest of Okinawa, the southeast province of Japan. Japan formally controlled the Senkaku or Diaoyu Islands in 1895. America also occupied it for a short time after World War II.
