Plans are being made to remove the International Space Station. American space agency NASA is planning in this direction. After this plan is implemented, the International Space Station will end. Scientists say that this space station is now outdated.
An advanced-level space station will be required for further better research. Now, NASA has issued a proposal to develop a US deorbit vehicle. Let us tell you that astronauts from different countries live on the International Space Station.
NASA’s Plan To Drop
The total weight of the International Space Station is about 419,725 kg. In such a situation, it will not be so easy to crash it. For this, NASA has made a special plan. The space station will not be dropped suddenly but gradually brought down. The plan is to gradually bring it down from orbit and reach the atmosphere in January 2031.
After this, it will be dropped into the sea. Full precautions will be taken to ensure that it does not cause any harm to the Earth. Notably, the International Space Station is the largest satellite to date. This project was started in the year 1989.
Joint Plan Of Five Countries
According to the American Space Agency, this station is orbiting about 410 km above the Earth. A few years ago, a team of astronauts did a spacewalk to upgrade the space station’s solar panels. The International Space Station is a joint plan of five countries.
It was jointly prepared by NASA, the European Space Agency, the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, the Canadian Space Agency and Russia’s Roscosmos. This space agency has been active since 2028 and has been agreed among the countries involved to run it till 2030.
