Germany’s Minister Impressed By India’s UPI; Paid Through Mobile In Seconds

Countries worldwide are interested in India’s Unified Payments Interface, i.e. UPI. Due to the ease of digital payment, the world wants to adopt it. Singapore, UAE, Nepal, Bhutan, France and Sri Lanka are the countries that have adopted the UPI payment system. Germany is also showing interest in it now. Germany’s Union Minister for Digital and Transport Volker Wissing experienced the ease of making payments using UPI. He was fascinated by the ease of payment.

On Sunday, the German Embassy in India lauded UPI and described it as one of India’s success stories. In its post, the embassy also released photos and videos of Minister Volker Wissing making a UPI payment for vegetables purchased by him. He made this payment on August 19 when he arrived in Bengaluru to attend the Digital Ministers meeting of G-20 countries.

The embassy wrote in its post, One of India’s success stories is digital infrastructure. UPI enables everyone to transact in seconds. Lakhs of Indians use it. Federal Minister for Digital and Transport Volker Wissing experienced firsthand the simplicity of UPI payments and was thrilled by it. In the embassy’s post, people thanked him for participating in India’s digital economic revolution.

Due to this, payment can be made any time for 365 days. Customers pay from it through a virtual payment address. Earlier in July, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that India and France have agreed to UPI payments. France’s adoption of UPI can open huge doors for India in Europe.
