Dubai Businessman’s Big Claim On Imran Khan

A Dubai businessman claimed he bought a priceless watch gifted to former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan for $2 million. Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman gave this watch to Imran Khan. The name of this businessman from Dubai is Umar Farooq Zahoor. He claims that he had met Farah Khan, a close friend of Imran Khan’s wife, Bushra Bibi, in Dubai, after which he bought this watch.

He said during an interview the PTI government wanted to sell this watch for 4 to 5 million dollars. But after negotiation, I bought this watch for 2 million dollars. Umar said that the cash was given only on the advice of Farah Khan.

Imran Khan, who came to power in Pakistan in 2018, received expensive gifts from rich Arab countries during his official foreign tours, which were deposited in Toshakhana. Umar later bought an expensive watch from these gifts at a low price.

According to the Election Commission of Pakistan, these expensive gifts included in the government’s treasury have a graph wristwatch, cuffing, an expensive pen, a ring and four Rolex watches, which the former government sold.

What is The Toshakhana Case?

The Toshakhana is a section of the cabinet where valuable gifts given by governments, heads of state and foreign guests from other countries are kept. According to the rules, it is necessary to keep the gifts received from the heads of other countries or dignitaries in the Toshakhana.

Imran Khan became the Prime Minister of Pakistan in 2018. During his visits to Arab countries, he received expensive gifts from the rulers. He had also received valuable gifts from heads of state of many European countries, which Imran deposited in Toshakhana. But Imran Khan later bought them from Toshakhana at low prices and sold them at a huge profit. His government had given legal permission for this entire process.

During the hearing, the former prime minister had told the Election Commission that these gifts were bought from the state treasury for Rs 2.15 crore, and he made a profit of about Rs 5.8 crore by selling them. The gifts included a Graff watch, a pair of cufflinks, an expensive pen, a ring and four Rolex watches, among other gifts.
