Muslim Population in World: Islam is the second largest religion in the world. According to an estimate for the year 2022, 25 per cent of the world’s population is Muslim. About 1.97 billion people believe in Islam. But there are two countries where Muslims live, but there is no permission to build a mosque. For years, the Muslims in these countries have been demanding the construction of a mosque, but the government does not allow it.
Interestingly, both these countries are new. The population of Muslims is also less here. They offer Namaz in a cultural centre or flat.
These countries are Slovakia, which was formed by separating from Czechoslovakia, while the other country is Estonia. Let’s talk about Estonia first. According to the 2011 census, a total of 1508 Muslims live here. This is 0.14 per cent of the population there. But by now, this population must have increased. But the number is significantly less.
There Is No Mosque In These Countries
There is no mosque in Estonia. There is an Islamic centre where Muslims gather and offer Namaz. Azeri and Sunni Tatar Muslims are residents of this country. He was once in the Russian army. Here people of the Sunni and Shia communities offer Namaz together. They are deposited in a common flat. The Muslims here are considered moderate.
Let us inform you that around 1940, Estonia was merged with the Soviet Union. When it broke in 1991, it declared itself a separate country. Now it is a member of the European Union, and its number comes in many prosperous countries.
On the other hand, in 2010, the population of Muslims in Slovakia was about 5 thousand. Means 0.1 per cent of the total population. The Muslims who came here around the 17th century were Uighurs or Turks. They settled in the central and southern parts of this country. Earlier it was called Yugoslavia. But after separation, it came to be known as Slovakia. In 2010, too, there was a lot of controversy over establishing an Islamic centre here.
Muslim Refugees Were Not Allowed
In 2015, when the migration of refugees was a big issue in front of Europe when 200 Christians found refuge in Slovakia. But this country refused to give shelter to the Muslims. His Foreign Ministry had said that there is no Ibadarghar for Muslims here. Therefore, providing shelter to them can create problems. In 2016, Slovakia passed a law which said that Islam would never be accepted as a religion in this country.
