Company’s Big Decision After Side Effects, Covishield Vaccine Recalled

Leading pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca, which is facing allegations of severe side effects after administering the Corona vaccine, has withdrawn all Corona vaccines from the market. This also includes the Covishield vaccine made in India. The company said on Tuesday that it was withdrawing the vaccine globally. Earlier, the company had also accepted the vaccine’s side effects. However, the pharma giant says the vaccine is being removed from the market for other reasons.

The Corona vaccine manufactured by AstraZeneca was introduced in India under the name of Covishield. Now, the company has withdrawn its self-made COVID-19 vaccine globally. Earlier, the company had admitted in court documents that the coronavaccine manufactured by it could cause serious side effects like blood clotting. However, the pharma giant said the vaccine is being removed from the market for commercial reasons. On Tuesday, the Telegraph quoted the company stating the vaccine was no longer being manufactured or supplied.

It Is A Coincidence That Questions Were Raised On The Vaccine At This Very Time

The company has argued that we have made this decision at a time when side effects emerged due to vaccination. This is entirely coincidental. The reason for removing the vaccine from the market is something else. However, the company refused to say anything more about this. According to the information, the application for withdrawal of the vaccine from the market was made on March 5, which became effective on May 7.

Notably, the Corona vaccine manufactured by AstraZeneca was found to cause TTS – Thrombosis Thrombocytopenia Syndrome. The vaccine, Vaxzevria, made by AstraZeneca, was supplied to many countries, including the UK, and this vaccine is also under investigation for rare side effects. Due to this, the sick person has complained of blood clotting and low platelet counts. During the court proceedings in February, the company had admitted that TTS was possible after vaccination.

At least 81 people have died in the UK due to TTS. The company is facing a lawsuit filed by more than 50 relatives of those who died. Some families in India have filed lawsuits against the company.

What Did The Company Say?

“We are proud of our coronavirus vaccine for helping end the global pandemic”, AstraZeneca was quoted as saying by the Telegraph. According to an estimate, more than 6.5 million lives were saved in its first year of use alone and more than three billion doses were supplied globally. Our efforts have been recognized by governments worldwide and have made an unprecedented contribution to ending the global pandemic.”
