A few months ago, the issue of Pegasus spying was in the news in India, so there was a lot of debate between political parties from Parliament to newsrooms. A similar case is now coming to light with the iPhone, in which it is claimed that Pegasus spyware software is being installed in the iPhone, which is spying on the users.
Let us tell you that Citizen Lab, a cyber research team present at the University of Toronto, has given the information about Pegasus in iPhone. Along with this, Citizen Lab has issued a warning to the users of iPhone and Apple devices and said that they all should keep their phones and other devices safe.
How Did You Know About Pegasus?
Citizen Lab wrote in its post that while investigating a person in the US capital, Washington DC, last week, it used zero-click vulnerability, which was used by NSO Group’s Pegasus spyware.
How Spyware Is Spying
Citizen Lab called this spyware BLASTPASS, which can harm the iPhone running on the latest version of iOS (16.6) without the user knowing, meaning the user’s phone will be hacked, and he will not even know about it. Citizen Lab informed Apple about this malware; Apple immediately released special updates to fix it. These updates are for all products, including iPhone, iPad, Mac computers and smartwatches.
How To Protect Against Spyware
Apple has warned its users to update their iPhone, iPad, MacBook and Apple Watch immediately. Also, Citizen Lab has appreciated this immediate action of Apple.
