One Click And Mumbai Man Loses Rs 38 Lakh; New Online Scam Raises Concerns

The incidents of the online scam are increasing very fast. There seems to be no online platform where digital fraud or scam does not happen. Even after many warnings, people get trapped in the trap of scammers. Now a new case has come.

It has been told that a 40-year-old man lost about Rs 38 lakh in cyber fraud. It has been said in the report of The Free Press Journal that a person living in Mumbai received a message from an unknown woman on Telegram.

The woman offered him to earn money online. The woman said that some products of her company have to be given online ratings only. For this, they will also be given a good commission. After hearing about earning money, the victim also showed interest in it.

Scam By Sending Website Link

After this, another woman contacted her on the website to complete some work. Regarding this, the woman asked to log in by sending a link to the website. The woman assured me that he would get a good income by completing the task. These earnings will be sent directly to their e-wallet through the website.

An IT engineer by profession started completing the task by understanding the necessary guidelines. According to the complaint filed by the police, in one task, the person had to give a 5-star rating on different properties. He was also told that after completing the task, he would have to pay some premium charge, which would later be returned with his earnings.

Spent 37.80 Lakhs To Complete The Task

In a statement given to the police, the victim said he spent Rs 37.80 lakh to complete the task. An amount of 41.50 lakh was visible in his e-wallet on the website. Then he submitted the request for withdrawal on the website.

But, his request was visible in pending only. After some time, the website and Telegram group were deleted. After this, the victim complained to the police. Because of this, you also need to be careful with this new scam.
