Facebook Closes Account Without Reason, Court Orders User To Pay $50,000

Facebook has found it challenging to close a user’s account in Georgia, USA. According to the report, Facebook had to pay a fine of 50 thousand dollars, i.e. about 41 lakh rupees, to the young man due to the closure of his account without any reason.

The Facebook account of Jason Crawford, who lives in Georgia, USA, was closed, after which he challenged Facebook in court. He said the account had been closed without any valid reason, and Facebook was not ready to listen to the issue.

Jason said that when he woke on Sunday, he opened his Facebook and saw his account was locked. Facebook told me that I had been banned. It has been said by Facebook that I have violated Facebook’s standards, and after that, Facebook did not respond.

Jason claims that no rules were violated. Even Facebook didn’t tell me clearly because of which post they felt I violated Facebook’s rules.

Jason contacted Facebook’s parent company Meta several times to resolve the issue. But no message was replied to. Jason had received a notice due to political comments earlier, but Facebook closed his profile this time.

Taking legal action against Facebook, Jason sued the company. When Facebook’s team failed to respond, the judge ordered Meta to pay $50,000 to Jason.

Following the court order, Facebook reinstated Jason’s account. However, Jason’s fight is not over yet; Facebook is not complying with the judge’s order and is yet to pay Jason a single dollar.
