Elon Musk announced on Friday, December 9, that Twitter would remove and free up 1.5 billion accounts that have been inactive on the platform for years. He also said that Twitter is working on a software update that will show the exact status of your account. “Twitter will soon begin freeing up the namespace of 1.5 billion accounts”.
Elon Musk said these are apparent account deletions with no tweets or logins for years. He added that the micro-blogging platform is working on a process to inform users if their tweets have been suppressed under shadow banning and that they can appeal against it.
