What Is Special in The Apple Store?
According to a report, hundreds of people had gathered when the Apple Store opened. The crowd was so large that the Chinese police had to come forward to control it. Apple’s Vice President of Retail, Deirdre O’Brien, was also present with Cook.
This is the world’s second-largest Apple Store, and it opened in Shanghai, China. The tech giant’s first largest Apple Store is at the Fifth Avenue Outlet in New York City. This is also the largest Apple Store in China. It is in front of Shanghai’s historic Jing’an Temple and is Apple’s 57th store in the country.
iPhone Sales Decline In China
It is worth noting that Apple opened this store when its sales in China fell. Apple has opened this store after falling sales of the iPhone and facing tough competition from companies like Huawei. According to the report, iPhone sales in China have fallen 24% year-on-year (YoY) in the first six weeks of 2024. Apple had said in February that there had been a decline in its net sales.
