AI tools like ChatGPT have created a stir worldwide as soon as they arrived. Its ability to complete the work instantly attracted everyone’s attention. Innovations related to artificial intelligence (AI) are emerging every day. Many people are afraid of losing their jobs due to AI, while many people are earning lakhs and crores of rupees by using AI.
Now, a new profession is attracting everyone’s attention, and that is ‘AI prompt engineer’. According to a ZDNet report, this role, which focuses on extracting the best answers from generic AI tools, is now considered one of the most demanding jobs.
Earnings Of Rs 2.5 Crore Per Year
According to the report, AI prompt engineers earn between $1,75,000 and $3,00,000 annually. In Indian rupees, this is approximately Rs 1.4 crore to Rs 2.5 crore annually. Although this job may sound easy to you at first, it will require you to be an expert in programming, problem-solving, AI expertise and even artistic abilities. This complexity is increasing the demand for experts in these things.
Experts Are Not Found Even After Searching
The growing demand for AI prompt engineers has created a challenge for companies trying to fill these roles. Greg Beltzer, head of technology at RBC Wealth Management, says recruiting for this position is difficult.
“Today, a good prompt engineer is more expensive than a data scientist,” he says. Moreover, finding candidates with adequate experience is a difficult task. “It’s tough to find someone with experience,” says Beltzer. “You won’t find someone with more than five years of experience. You might find someone with at least two or three years of experience. It’s also difficult to find.”
This situation emphasizes the need for people to enhance their skills to remain relevant in the rapidly changing AI scenario. As companies quickly adopt generative AI applications and technologies, the demand for AI prompt engineers is expected to increase. Interestingly, this trend has emerged amid concerns that AI could affect people’s jobs.
