Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli finally ended the drought of a century in ODIs. Virat scored a brilliant century in the match played against Bangladesh on Saturday. He scored 113 runs in 91 balls, hitting 11 fours and 2 sixes. Along with this, he left Ricky Ponting behind in terms of centuries in all three formats. Kohli now has 72 centuries to his name. He has 44 centuries to his name in ODIs.
Century Came After Three Years
Soon he can break Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 49 centuries in ODIs. The special thing is that this was Kohli’s first century in three years. His last ODI century came against the West Indies on 14 August 2019 at Port of Spain. In this match, he played an unbeaten inning of 114 runs. Virat had a century drought in 2020-2021, but he ended it after about three and a half years.

Hit A Six And Completed The Century
Virat completed his century by hitting a six. After this, he was seen celebrating especially. He raised his bat, looked at Ishan Kishan, and said – Three…years, the boss; Kohli wanted to say that it took three f**king years to score a century…Virat had earlier this year scored an unbeaten 122 in the Super 4 match of the Asia Cup against Afghanistan. Run Thok ended a three-year drought in terms of centuries in his cricket career.
