Earlier, Inzamam-ul-Haq held this post from 2016 to 2019. He can choose the team for the ODI series against Afghanistan from 22 August.

Inzamam Ul Haq has also been a part of the ODI World Cup winning team in the year 1992 under the captaincy of Imran Khan. Talking about his career, he has scored 8830 runs in 200 innings of 120 Test matches at an average of 49.6. He has 25 centuries and 46 half-centuries in Tests.
At the same time, in 350 innings of 378 ODIs, he has scored 11739 runs at an average of 39.5. During this, he has scored 10 centuries and 83 half-centuries. Inzamam has played only one T20 match in his career, in which he scored 11 not out.
