On-field umpires Vinay Kumar Jha and Masudur Rahman caught the act. Due to this, Nepal’s team got 5 penalty runs as extra. This rule has been in force since September.
Applying saliva on the ball was banned due to the Coronavirus epidemic, which remained in force for two years, and now the ICC has banned it permanently.
