Cricket Namibia has announced the 14-man squad representing the country at the Under-19 Men’s Regional World Cup qualifiers in July. According to the report Xinhua, the Namibian team will compete against Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Kenya, Uganda and the host country Tanzania. According to Cricket Namibia, the team has been selected only after training monitoring and tracking by the selectors.

Cricket Namibia’s newly appointed Under-19 coach Oscar Nauhaus said there is a wealth of experience in the squad, with some members having featured in previous Under-19 World Cup qualifiers. The team has many skills, giving us adaptability and flexibility in the upcoming tournament. Meanwhile, Johan Muller, Chief Executive Officer of Cricket Namibia, said the selection process started in August 2022. It included several tournaments, tours, trial weekends and camps.
Qualifier Matches Will Be Held In July
Sixteen teams will compete in the Under-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup in Sri Lanka in 2024. The six teams participating in the Africa Regional Qualifier compete for a place in the World Cup, with the 11 Full Member teams automatically qualifying for the event. The qualifier matches will run from 21 to 31 July in Tanzania.
