This One Over Proved Costly For Pakistan, Babar’s Army Lost The Winning Match

India’s dominance against Pakistan continues in the T20 World Cup. Team India won the thrilling match played in New York on Sunday by 6 runs and achieved its second consecutive victory in the tournament. Pakistan was ahead in this match at one time, but on the strength of the Indian bowlers and Rohit Sharma’s brilliant captaincy, India snatched the victory from their jaws.

In the match played at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York, Pakistan won the toss and decided to bowl. Except for Rishabh Pant, all other batters were disappointed, and India was all out against Pakistan for the first time in the T20 World Cup. Chasing 120 runs, the Pakistani team scored 80 runs in 14 overs and seemed to win this match easily. But after this, there was a twist in the story, and Pakistan’s innings collapsed like a pack of cards.

Rohit Made A Move, Finished Off Pakistan

India had scored only 119 runs, so the entire responsibility for victory was on the Indian bowlers. The highest expectations were from Jasprit Bumrah, and the star bowler did not disappoint the Indian fans. The way Team India captain Rohit Sharma used Bumrah is being highly appreciated.

Rohit knew that if Pakistan was to be defeated in this low-scoring match, Jasprit Bumrah could be a trump card. Therefore, using his four overs at the right time was important. The Indian captain handed him the ball in the third over. Bumrah looked in great rhythm from the first ball; Pakistani openers Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan looked helpless. Bumrah made a big breakthrough in India in his second over, catching Pak captain Babar Azam by slip.

After getting two overs from Bumrah, Rohit Sharma kept him for 14 overs. Till now, Pakistan had scored 80 runs for the loss of three wickets, and Mohammad Rizwan was seen putting the match in his team’s bag. Jasprit Bumrah clean-bowled Rizwan on the first ball of his second spell. After this, there was a commotion in the Pakistan dressing room. The batters yearned for even a single run in front of Bumrah. Bumrah gave only three runs in this over.

Bumrah did wonders even during his last over, and he created a sensation by sending Pakistan’s aggressive batsman, Iftikhar Ahmed, to the pavilion. He took 3 wickets for just 14 runs in 4 overs. Pakistan needed 18 runs to win in the last over. Captain Rohit Sharma handed the ball to young fast bowler Arshdeep Singh, and the left-handed pacer did not disappoint. Only 11 runs were scored in the last over, and India created history by winning this match by 6 runs.
