The ICC T20 World Cup has started. It will be played in America and the West Indies from June 2 to June 29. This time, 20 teams are participating in the T20 World Cup. The International Cricket Council has announced the prize money for this mega event. The winning team will receive a huge amount along with the cup.
The ICC has announced a record prize of $11.25 million (about Rs 93 crore 51 lakh) for the T20 World Cup, of which the winner will receive $2.45 million (about Rs 20 crore 36 lakh).
At the same time, the team losing the final match of the World Cup will receive $1.28 million, while the teams losing the semi-finals will receive $787500. Last time, the total prize was $5.6 million; the winner, England, received $1.6 million.
What Did The ICC Say?
The ICC said in a statement that the winner of the 20-team Tournament in the ninth season of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup will receive a prize of $2.45 million, the highest prize money in the Tournament’s history. The trophy will also be given after the final in Barbados on June 29.

Each of the four teams that do not advance beyond the Super Eight will be given $382500, while the teams ranked ninth to 12th will get $247500, and the teams ranked 13th to 20th will get $225000. The ICC said every team will get $31154 for winning each match (except for the semi-finals and final).
55-Match Tournament
The 55-match Tournament will be played for 28 days at nine US and West Indies places. For the first time, 20 teams participated. After 40 matches in the first round, the top eight teams will reach the Super Eight. Four of those teams will play in the semi-finals.
