Giving Flying Kiss Proved Costly For Harshit Rana, Now He Will Have To Pay Such A Big Price

The third match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 was played on Saturday between Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad (IPL 2024 KKR Vs SRH). All limits of excitement were crossed in this match held at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

There was a lot of heat between the players during the match. KKR scored a massive 208 runs after losing seven wickets based on Andre Russell’s stormy innings of 64 runs in 25 balls. Then, due to the lethal bowling of Harshit Rana in the last over, Hyderabad was restricted to 204 runs for 7 wickets. Russell was awarded the Player of the Match award for his excellent performance.

Harshit Rana Gave Flying Kiss To Mayank Agarwal

Mayank Agarwal and Abhishek Sharma gave a good start to SRH while chasing the target of 209 runs given by KKR by making a half-century partnership for the first wicket. But in the sixth over, Harshit Rana gave the first success to KKR by dismissing Mayank Agarwal (32). Mayank pulled Harshit’s thrown ball towards the deep square leg, but Rinku Singh, present there, made no mistake in catching it.

After dismissing Mayank, young fast bowler Rana lost his temper. He went near Mayank, who was going towards the pavilion and gave a flying kiss celebration by pointing towards his mouth. Mayank did not like Rana’s action and started staring at the bowler.

Harshit Rana Fined

Rana has now been fined for his misbehaviour during the match. IPL has fined Rana 60 per cent of the match fee. An official statement issued by the IPL said that in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, Kolkata Knight Riders bowler Harshit Rana will be fined a match fee for violating the IPL Code of Conduct in the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on March 23. A total of 60 per cent fine has been imposed.

The statement further said that Rana committed two Level 1 offences under Article 2.5 of the IPL Code of Conduct. He was fined 10 per cent and 50 per cent of his match fee for two related offences. Rana has confessed to two crimes and has also accepted the punishment of the match referee. The match referee’s decision is final and binding for Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct.

Rana Became The Hero Of Kolkata’s Victory

22-year-old Harshit Rana was the real hero of this victory in Kolkata. He stopped the stormy innings of Heinrich Klaasen (63 runs in 29 balls) and gave KKR a thrilling win by four runs. Klaasen and Shahbaz Ahmed (16) added 58 runs in 16 balls for the sixth wicket.

Hyderabad had to score 13 runs in the last over to win, but Harshit Rana turned the tables. Klaasen hit a six on Rana’s first ball. After this, Rana first dismissed Shahbaz Ahmed and then Klaasen. Rana gave only 8 runs in the last over and took two wickets to give Knight Riders a thrilling victory. He took 3 wickets, giving 33 runs in 3 overs.
