There Will Be A Test On Fuel In A Few Months
According to the BBC report, Professor Simon Middleberg of Bangor University said his work was challenging, but it has been a lot of fun. Talking about the Bangor team, Professor Middleberg said they will test nuclear fuel in the next few months. The temperature on the Moon drops to -248 degrees Celsius. In such a situation, it is difficult for humans to settle there. By generating heat through this fuel, an environment suitable for humans can be created.
How Will This Fuel Work?
Bangor University is exploring the use of other sources of energy. A nuclear fuel cell known as ‘Triso Fuel’ has been sent for testing. Rolls-Royce has prepared a micro nuclear generator, for which this fuel will be used as fuel. Professor Middelburg said that the microgenerator is like a portable device. Its shape is like a small car. It can be sent into space through a rocket.
The professor said that the generator and Triso Fuel testing will be done to be used on the moon base. There is evidence of water being present on the Moon. In such a situation, it can be a base for humans in space. However, the minus temperature makes keeping the base warm here challenging. In such a situation, energy will be generated through a microgenerator, which will keep the base warm and act as a source of its energy.
The Journey To Mars Will Be Easy
All space agencies, including NASA, are working on a plan to reach Mars by building a base on the Moon. The journey from Earth to Mars is quite challenging. But this journey can be quickly completed through the Moon. However, having a human base on the Moon is necessary. The microgenerator will help in building a base on the Moon. Once a base is built here, travel to different parts of space, including Mars, can be quickly completed.
