Green Comet: The green comet will pass by the Earth for the first time in about 50,000 years. This is a rare green comet, which is expected to be visible the most. According to NASA, the comet will be about 26.4 million miles from Earth on Wednesday (February 1).
Scientists said that after today it would not return for millions of years. The actual name of the green comet is C/2022 E3 (ZTF). The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) said that the Neanderthal comet would shift northwest towards the horizon throughout January. And the funniest thing is that between February 1 and February 2, the comet will pass closest to the Earth.
Can Be Seen Without The Help Of Binoculars
NASA wrote in its WhatsApp blog that Comets are mainly unpredictable, but if they maintain their brightness, they will be easy to see with the help of binoculars. The green comet was discovered by an astronomer using the Zwicky Transient Facility telescope at Caltech’s Palomar Observatory in San Diego on March 2, 2022. The green comet’s structure shows the green comet’s chemical composition.
NASA Scientists Will Search
A Reuters report states that the comet’s chrome results from a collision between sunlight and carbon-based atoms. NASA is planning to test the comet with the help of the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST). This can give important information regarding the formation of the space.
“We’re going to be looking for fingerprints of given atoms that we can’t access from the ground,” said planetary scientist Stephanie Milam of NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Maryland. The report further states, “As the JWST is very sensitive, we expect discoveries.”
