Given information about this, Ashwini Vaishnav has said that after getting the gift of the Vande Bharat train, Odisha can get another new train. Railways can start Vande Metro in Odisha between Puri-Bhubaneswar-Cuttack. This special train can be started between January-February 2024.
What is Vande Metro?
Significantly, Vande Metro is a smaller version of the Vande Bharat train, which will be run between two cities within a short distance. The government announced this train in the budget 2023-24. Two cities of less than 100 km will be connected by this train. Railways plan that Vande Metro will be operated between 50 to 60 kilometres in significant cities with large populations. Significantly, the Railways has planned to start Vande Metro on the lines of the Vande Bharat train.
The railway is trying to provide excellent local train facilities to the people for this train. This train will mainly benefit those working in cities, and they come from nearby towns to big cities every day for work. Passengers will get world-class facilities on this train.
Puri-Howrah Vande Bharat Started Operations
On May 18, Prime Minister Modi flagged off the country’s 17th, and Odisha’s first Vande Bharat train through video conferencing. The journey between Howrah to Puri will be completed on this train in just 6.25 hours. Along with this, there will be an opportunity to connect both the major tourist cities through this train.
