TB Patients in Maharashtra: Worrying news has come out for the people of Maharashtra state. There has been a huge increase in the number of TB patients in the state. 40 thousand TB patients have been found in 100 days. Under the anti-TB campaign, the health of 1.37 crore citizens of the state was examined. ‘Saam TV’ has published a report on this. These shocking figures have come out of this investigation. The number of TB patients is increasing day by day. Efforts are being made at every level to control TB. However, TB disease has not been controlled. It is being told that 25 percent of TB patients are in India. Only 10 percent of its patients are in Maharashtra. This figure was drawn from the Health Department.
Patients Increased This Year Compared To Last Year
Last year, in 2024, 2 lakh 30 thousand 515 TB-infected patients were found in Maharashtra. In 2025, 39 thousand 705 TB patients were registered in the state in January and February. This figure is a cause of concern for the people of the state. TB cases were very high in 2024 and just two months in 2025.
To create awareness about TB disease among the common citizens, March 24 is celebrated as World TB Day every year. Per the guidelines of the Central TB Department, a 100-day campaign to find TB patients was launched in 17 high-risk districts of the state between December 7 2024 and March 24 2025.
