Navi Mumbai Police has arrested a person from Haryana in a case related to the alleged conspiracy to attack Bollywood superstar Salman Khan. With the person’s arrest, the number of people arrested in this case has increased to five. A police officer gave this information on Sunday. The officer said that the arrested person is allegedly a member of Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldie Brar’s gang.
How Did The Police Catch Bishnoi’s Member?
The police said the investigation included infiltration into Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang’s social media groups. Navi Mumbai Police said in an official release that Deepak Hawasingh Gogalia, alias Jani Valmiki (30), was arrested in Bhiwani in Haryana on Saturday. It noted that Gogalia had arranged accommodation for the other accused and provided logistics and vehicle assistance. He was in touch with the other accused through video calls.
The police said that Panvel Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 11) Vivek Pansare sought help from Bhiwani Superintendent of Police Varun Singhla and was caught. A team of the crime branch of Navi Mumbai Police has left for Haryana. The release said that Gogalia was produced before a magistrate in Bhiwani on Sunday, who sent him on transit remand of Navi Mumbai Police until June 5. He is being brought to Panvel.
5 People Have Been Arrested So Far In The Case
DCP Pansare told the media that Senior Inspector Nitin Thackeray of Panvel Police Station had received information about a conspiracy to harm the actor in September-October last year. He said that the investigation found that four members of the gang had conducted a recce of Salman Khan’s farmhouse in Panvel, the area around his house in Bandra, Mumbai and the places where he used to go for film shooting.
Pansare further said a case was registered against 17 people in April, including Lawrence Bishnoi and his younger brother Anmol Bishnoi. He said Dhananjay Tapesingh alias Ajay Kashyap (28) was arrested from Panvel on April 28, while Gaurav Bhatia alias Sandeep Bishnoi was detained from Gujarat on the same day. Waspi Khan, alias Wasim Chikna, was arrested from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, and Rizwan Khan, alias Javed Khan, was arrested in Bengaluru, the DCP said.
