All schools up to class VIII in Bihar’s capital, Patna, will remain closed until June 19. Given the scorching heat, the Patna district administration has ordered to close all government and private schools. The District Magistrate has issued an order banning all schools’ educational activities up to class 8. However, school teachers will not benefit from this. According to the order, teachers have been ordered to work by staying in school.
What Is In The Order Issued By DM?
In the order issued by Patna District Magistrate Shirshat Kapil Ashok, it is said that according to the forecast of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), severe heat and heat waves are in the Patna district. This is likely to have an adverse effect on the health of the students.
In such a situation, from June 18 to June 19, 2024, educational activities have been banned in all government and private schools of Patna up to class 8. However, during this period, the teachers and non-teaching staff of the school will be present in the school/office and will perform their duties.
Holiday Extended By 10 Days In Chhattisgarh
Due to severe heat, school holidays were also extended in Chhattisgarh recently. State Education Minister Brijmohan Agarwal has announced a school holiday until June 25. All government and private schools in Chhattisgarh remain closed until June 25. The state government had declared summer holidays in all schools from April 22 to June 15.
The Meteorological Center in Raipur has predicted thunderstorms and strong winds in some parts of the state for the next four days. According to the Meteorological Department, conditions are favourable for the southwest monsoon to advance to more parts of the state during the next four to five days.
