An oil tanker caught fire near Cantt in Hisar, Haryana. Driver Rakesh showed presence of mind and saved his life by jumping from the tanker. Seeing the flames of fire, a crowd gathered on the National Highway. After the information, the fire brigade vehicle reached the spot and controlled the fire. Fortunately, a major accident was averted.
Regarding this incident, driver Rakesh says the tanker contained oil used in road construction. He was going from Bathinda to Bahadurgarh with the tanker. On Saturday, he left Bathinda with the tanker. In the evening, he slept at a hotel near Hisar Cantt. On Sunday morning, after going some distance, a short circuit in the cabin caught fire when he left with the tanker from the hotel.
The Driver Jumped From The Cabin
After this, the driver parked the tanker on the roadside and jumped from the cabin amidst the flames. He then called the fire brigade and informed them. At the same time, a crowd of drivers and people passing by gathered at the spot. The fire brigade reached the spot and controlled the fire. The tanker’s cabin was completely burnt in the incident.
Call For Bandh in Hisar
Meanwhile, traders angry over the miscreants not being arrested even after 12 days of firing by unidentified persons outside a car showroom in Hisar had called for a bandh on Friday.
During this time, shops and petrol pumps remained closed. Unidentified miscreants had fired outside the car showroom and also demanded a ransom of Rs 5 crore. Traders alleged that after the firing incident, unknown miscreants had called the owners of an automobile showroom and a car accessories shop and demanded a ransom of Rs 2 crore each. Questioning the alleged inaction of the police in these recent cases, the traders said that the culprits have not been arrested yet. Meanwhile, Hisar District Bar Association President Vinay Kumar Bishnoi said that the association’s lawyers did not do any work on Friday to support the bandh.
