Festive Season: The festive season peaked at the beginning of October. With the end of the festive season, the wedding season will start in the country. Around 48 lakh weddings will occur from November to December 2024, and about Rs 6 lakh crore will be spent on them. This year’s wedding season can benefit the Indian economy and business people tremendously. Business people hope that Indian goods will be used chiefly at weddings this time.
The Wedding Season Will Start From November 12
The wedding season will start on November 12, 2024. According to research by the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), this year, the goods and services retail sector can generate a business of about Rs 5.9 lakh crore during the wedding season.
Last year, due to about 35 lakh weddings, the total trade was Rs 4.25 lakh crore. In 2023, there were 11 auspicious dates for marriages, whereas this year, there are 18 auspicious dates. This will also increase business. According to CAT, business worth Rs 1.5 lakh crore in Delhi alone is expected from 4.5 lakh marriages this season.
These Are The Auspicious Marriage Dates Of This Year
According to Acharya Durgesh Tare, convener of CAT’s Veda and Spiritual Committee, this year, the wedding season will start on November 12, Dev Uthani Ekadashi and will continue till December 16. The auspicious dates in November are 12, 13, 17, 18, 22, 23, 25, 26, 28, and 29, while in December they are 4, 5, 9, 10, 11, 14, 15, and 16. After this, marriage programs will stop for about a month and will start again from mid-January 2025 to March.
Demand For These Things Increases During The Wedding Season.
CAT National General Secretary and MP Praveen Khandelwal said consumers now prioritise Indian goods. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for ‘Vocal for Local’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ is getting stronger. CAT National President BC Bhartia said that sales of clothes, sarees, lehengas, apparel, jewellery, electronics, electrical equipment, dry fruits, sweets, namkeen, groceries, vegetables, and gifts increase during the wedding season.
The demand for banquet halls, hotels, marriage houses, event management, tent decoration, catering services, flower decoration, transport, cab service, photography, videography, orchestra, band, light and sound also increases.
