Given the state’s less rainfall, the Haryana government approved a proposal on Thursday to provide farmers with a bonus of Rs 2,000 per acre for their Kharif crops. The decision was made at the state cabinet meeting held here under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini. According to Bhasha’s news, talking to the media after the meeting, Saini said the state has received less rainfall in May, June, and July this year than last year.
Farmers Have To Spend More On Crops
According to the news, the Chief Minister said farmers must spend more on crops due to less rainfall this year. He said that we would give a bonus on all Kharif crops, including fruits, flowers, and vegetables. Farmers will be given Rs 2,000 per acre as a bonus. Saini said that even if a farmer has less than one acre of land, he will be given Rs 2,000. He said I am also a farmer’s son; I understand their pain.
You Will Have To Register Yourself By August 15
The Chief Minister said farmers must register on the ‘Meri Fasal, Mera Byora’ portal by August 15. A few days ago, the state cabinet approved the proposal to buy 10 more crops at the minimum support price (MSP). The Chief Minister also announced that the outstanding irrigation charges for canal water should be waived. These announcements were made ahead of the Haryana Assembly elections later this year.
The Haryana government has recently launched the Moong Seed Subsidy Scheme, in which farmers will receive a 75% subsidy on purchasing moong seeds. The main objectives of the government’s scheme are to meet the increasing demand for moong in the market and increase farmers’ incomes.
