The water crisis news often comes from the Sangli district of Maharashtra. Due to the lack of a proper irrigation system, agriculture here has also been affected. A farmer from here has decided to change this picture. Farmer Kakasaheb Sawant has shown the cultivation of Himachal’s apples in Sangli.
Apple Trees Planted In Drought Affected Area
Kakasaheb Sawant keeps on doing many new experiments in farming. People made fun of him when he planted apple trees in his garden. When apple fruits started blooming on this barren land, people appreciated them. Please tell that there is a severe water crisis in the entire Jat tehsil. In such a way, by using the drip irrigation technique properly, he will earn good profit from the apple trees planted in his orchard.
Research Done Before Starting Apple Farming
Kakasaheb Sawant has done research before cultivating apples. For this, he has taken the help of Google. He found that apple crops can be planted even in less water. After this, he decided to take the risk. First of all, he went to Himachal. From there, Harman brought 150 apple plants of 99 varieties. He then prepared the land for the crop. He planted the plants. Out of these, 25 plants got damaged.
Earning Will Be Up To Rs 3.50 Lakh
Kakasaheb Sawant says that he did not know that he would get such a good profit from apple trees. Each tree used to bear 30 to 40 apples. These are similar to the apples coming from Himachal, Kashmir. Colour, taste, and size are all the same. The weight of each fruit is 150 to 200 grams. Today’s market rate of apples ranges from 200 to 250. Accordingly, Kakasaheb Sawant can earn Rs.3 to 3.50 lakhs from apple farming. Its trees will give continuous yield for 20 to 25 years.
