Electricity Rates Increased in Punjab: Amid rising heat, the people of Punjab are shocked by inflation. Powercom has increased the electricity rates in Punjab. The Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission has issued orders in this regard.
As per the order, consumers with loads up to 2 kW will have to pay Rs 4.19 per unit from Rs 3.49 for the first 100 units. The fixed charge has also been increased from Rs 35 to Rs 50 per kWh. From 101 to 300 units, the price has been increased from Rs 5.84 to Rs 6.64 per unit. Similarly, for more than 300 units, the electricity rate has been increased from Rs 7.30 to Rs 7.75 per unit.
