On Diwali, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) changed the timing of its services on October 31. According to the DMRC, the last Delhi Metro train service on October 31 will start at 10 pm from the terminal stations of all lines, including the Airport Express Line.
The DMRC said on the official account of its social media platform X, “Due to the Diwali festival, the last metro train service from the terminal stations of all lines on October 31, 2024 (Thursday) will start at 10:00 pm.” The DMRC also said that metro services would run normally at other times on Diwali day.
DMRC Added 60 Separate Trips
Given the increasing passenger traffic during the festival season, the DMRC announced 60 additional trips on Tuesday and Wednesday. The DMRC has appealed to residents to use public transport to reduce road traffic and pollution.
Heavy Traffic In Delhi-NCR
Due to the Diwali festival, many parts of Delhi and neighbouring Noida witnessed heavy traffic on Tuesday. Traffic came to a standstill in some areas of the national capital due to the rush of people who came to shop.

Apart from this, many commuters shared on social media that there were traffic jams at many places, including Badarpur flyover, CV Raman Marg, Punjabi Bagh, Badarpur Mehrauli Road, Taimur Nagar-Mehrani Bagh Road, Ashram and Yamuna Vihar. Several videos show traffic jams at Laxmi Nagar, Karol Bagh, Sarai Kale Khan, Delhi-Noida-Delhi (DND) flyway and other places.
