CM Yogi has taken a big step for the Kanwar pilgrims. CM Yogi has come on the front foot of the heated politics in UP on the order of the district administration to write the names of shopkeepers outside the shops on the Kanwar Yatra route. Yogi said that the name and identity of the owner will have to be written on the food shops on the Kanwar routes across UP. This decision was taken to maintain the purity of the faith of the Kanwar pilgrims. CM Yogi said that action will also be taken against those selling products with Halal certification.
The Muzaffarnagar Police Administration has issued an order that the owners of all the shops falling on the Kanwar Yatra route must put up a board with their full name written outside. Politics in UP has intensified on this order. The opposition started cornering the government.
Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has said that the BJP is the enemy of social harmony. It keeps finding some excuse to spoil the brotherhood of society. The BJP aims to divide society and harm mutual harmony. Due to these divisive policies of the BJP, the social environment of the state is getting polluted.
As per the rules, the court should take suo motu cognizance of this and take appropriate action by investigating the intention behind the administration and the government. The intention of the government behind this is to divide the minority class from society and bring them under suspicion. What will be known from the person’s name, such as Guddu, Munna, Chhotu, or Fateh? BJP does not hesitate to misuse power at every level.
BSP supremo Mayawati has demanded immediate withdrawal of this order from the district administration. AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has also commented. He said that such an order is to promote untouchability. It seems that Muslims are being made untouchable. He said, ‘The way the Uttar Pradesh government has asked the shopkeepers on the route of Kanwar Yatra to reveal their names is wrong. We condemn it. This is going to promote evil like untouchability. This is a violation of the Constitution. This is a violation of the right to livelihood.’
