CBI Investigates UGC NET Paper Leak, Exam Reschedule Announced Soon

To investigate the UGC NET paper leak case, the CBI has registered an FIR against unknown accused under sections 120-B and 420. The responsibility of investigating this has been assigned to CBI Inspector Sunil Kumar. In fact, on June 20, Higher Education Secretary, Shri K. Sanjay Murthy, informed that the case of paper leak in the UGC NET exam held on June 18 was confirmed by the National Cyber ​​Crime Threat Analysis Unit of the Indian Cyber ​​Crime Coordination Center (I4C). Soon after this, the NET paper was cancelled.

Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said the question paper had been found on the darknet. It has been made available by the Home Ministry’s organization 14C. A committee will be formed for its high-level investigation.

According to the report, he also said that the date for conducting the exam again will be announced very soon. This year, 11,21,225 candidates registered with UGC NET in June 2024. Out of these, 9.08 candidates appeared in the exam conducted at 317 exam centres across the country.

Regarding the cancellation of the UGC NET exam, the Ministry of Education said that some information about the exam was received from the Indian Cyber ​​Crime Coordination Center (I4C).
