BMC Issues Diwali Guidelines, Asks Mumbaikars to Limit Cracker Bursting

Maharashtra News: To deal with air pollution in Mumbai, a guideline has been issued regarding burning crackers on Diwali. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) issued a guideline on Diwali and said that Mumbaikars should not burst crackers after 10 pm. Along with this, an appeal has been made to prioritise soundless crackers.

The guideline states, “Mumbaikars should celebrate the festival of lights, Diwali, in an environmentally friendly manner. Also, safety should be prioritised while lighting lights and bursting crackers, and children should be more careful. Such crackers should be burst, which causes minimum air and noise pollution, and give priority to soundless crackers. ”

This Appeal Of BMC To Mumbaikars On Diwali

The Municipal Corporation has said that Mumbaikars celebrate the holy festival of Diwali with great enthusiasm. During this festival, there is a lot of cracker lighting, Pantya-Deepak decoration, electric lights, etc. Fireworks cause air and noise pollution. Diwali can be celebrated better and more memorable if proper precautions are taken to prevent pollution.

BMC Appeals To Burst As Few Crackers As Possible

BMC said that the Municipal Corporation is taking many measures to control pollution. People should limit the bursting of crackers during Diwali to 10 pm. Crackers should also burst as little as possible, as this causes air and noise pollution. Due to air pollution caused by crackers, children, pregnant women, the elderly, and patients with diseases like asthma have health problems.

Diwali is celebrated on the night of October 31 in the entire country, including Maharashtra. Crackers and fireworks are the main attractions of this festival. The youth also craze crackers. However, the Municipal Corporation also issues guidelines every year for safety reasons.
