The new Thal Sena Bhavan being built in Delhi will be equipped with many features. This modern building is being constructed in front of Manekshaw Center in Delhi Cantonment. The building will house various Army Headquarters offices spread over several parts of Delhi.
The Indian Army is aligned with the vision of ‘New India’. It is poised to transform into a future-ready, technology-ready, lethal and agile force capable of meeting future challenges more effectively. The idea of a new Thal Sena Bhawan has been conceived in line with this initiative. The army has also shared its design.

Highlights Of The New Thal Sena Bhawan
Its construction began in January 2023 and is scheduled to be completed in 27 months for Rs 832 crore. The new Thal Sena Bhavan will be part of the overall Central Vista project to meet the needs and aspirations of a new India.
The new building will comprise the ground floor and a seven-storey main office complex, an amenity area, an essential infrastructure complex, single men’s living spaces, vehicle parking, engineering service areas and landscaping.
Thal Sena Bhawan will be a robust GRIHA-compliant earthquake-resistant building with separate spaces for various directorates and departments spread over an area of about 1.5 lakh sq.m.
The centrally air-conditioned main office complex will have an adequate number of conference rooms with all facilities besides digital interfaces, briefing rooms, waiting rooms for guests and drivers, and various offices for directorates and departments.
A central control room and integrated building management system will be provided to ensure the required level of security on the premises. There will be optimized space, efficient circulation areas and a common library.
There will also be a special area called a facility zone with facilities like a food court, crèche, gym, wet canteen and an MI room with necessary medical facilities. There is also a Family Welfare Complex in the facility area.
It will be ready by 2025. Overall, the new army building is being built considering the needs of modern India and a modern army. This will strengthen the coordination between the military and increase the country’s strength in the defence sector. The building will be completed by the year 2025.
