Many people like Starbucks coffee all over the world, including India. For many, drinking coffee in this coffee bar is a status symbol. Big news related to this coffee bar has come out for such people.
Starbucks will now make a big change in its uniform policy to strengthen its identity further and handle the falling sales. What’s the whole matter?
Starbucks’ Uniform Policy
According to a news report published on CNN, from May 12, baristas (people who work in a coffee bar) in North America can wear only solid black T-shirts so that their “iconic green apron” stands out more. The company says this will give customers a familiar and consistent experience. In addition, now employees can wear only khaki, black, or blue denim pants.
They were also allowed to wear navy blue, grey, or brown earlier. This change aims to provide customers with a calm and professional atmosphere in the cafe. However, whether this decision applies only to North America or to Starbucks stores worldwide must be followed. It is unclear.
Decline In Starbucks Sales
According to reports, Starbucks sales have declined for the last four quarters. The reasons for this are expensive drinks, long wait times, and the demand for unionisation of employees for better facilities. Amidst all this, the company is now constantly making some big decisions.
Many Important Changes In Starbucks
Many important changes have taken place under the leadership of CEO Brian Nicol. According to CNN, the menu has been reduced by about 30 per cent to reduce service time, 1,000 corporate jobs have been eliminated, and now the store’s restroom facility is limited to paying customers. Apart from this, Starbucks is now calling itself “Starbucks Coffee Company” again, so the emphasis can be placed on the brand’s core identity, i.e., coffee. Another interesting change is that, like in the old days, baristas will again be able to make creative doodles in the cups, and self-serving milk-sugar stations are also returning.
