Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Boeing’s centre in Bengaluru on Friday. It is said to be Boeing’s largest centre outside America. The company has created this engineering and technology centre to prepare itself for the changes coming in the aviation sector. Here, emphasis will be laid on research, development, innovation and design. PM Modi said this is a part of the ‘Make in India, Make for the World’ strategy. This centre will strengthen the world’s confidence in India’s talent.
Highest Number Of Women Pilots in India
PM Modi said that currently, 15 per cent of pilots in India are women. This is three times the global average. The Boeing Sukanya Program will help our daughters realize their dream of becoming pilots. This Boeing campus will one day provide the world with modern aircraft made in India. He said the city of Bengaluru has been promoting new experiments and successes. This city has helped in meeting the technological demands of the world.
43 Acre Campus Prepared For Rs 1600 Crore
The Boeing India Engineering and Technology Center (BIETC) campus covers about 43 acres. The company has spent approximately Rs 1600 crore on this. This is the company’s largest centre outside America. This centre will work towards improving new startups and private and government partnerships in the country. From here, next-generation products and services can be developed for the global aerospace and defence industry. The report shows more than 3000 engineers can work together on this Boeing campus.
Apart from this, Boeing will also work together with the Indian Army. This is an important milestone under the Self-reliant India scheme in the defence sector.
Boeing Sukanya Program Announced
On this occasion, PM Modi also inaugurated the Boeing Sukanya program. With this, the country’s daughters will get more and more space in the aviation sector. Under this, daughters will get skill development training in fields like Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM).
Besides, training will also be provided for jobs in the aviation sector. On this occasion, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said it is a matter of honour for the state. Karnataka has always contributed to the technological development of the country.
