Almost all the major markets, including the BSE and NSE, will remain closed today during Ram Navami. Therefore, there will be no trading in major stock exchanges on Wednesday.
There Will Be No Business In These Segments
In separate notifications, both BSE and NSE have informed that the market will remain closed on April 17 on Ram Navami. On this occasion, there will be no trading in the derivatives segment on BSE and NSE. According to the notifications of both the major stock exchanges, the segments in which trading will be suspended today include Equity Segment, Equity Derivative Segment, SLB Segment, Currency Derivative Segment and Interest Rate Derivative Segment.
There Will Be Partial Trading On MCX
Trading on NCDX will also remain closed today on Ram Navami’s occasion. However, the commodity exchange MCX will open for partial trading. There will be no trading on MCX for the first session today, but after that, the exchange will open for the second session. This means there will be no trading on MCX in the first session from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., but there will be normal trading in the second session starting from 5 p.m.
There Was A Holiday Last Week Also
This is the second stock market holiday in April, excluding the weekend. Earlier last week, the domestic stock market was closed on Eid and April 11. However, after Ram Navami, there is no stock holiday in April.
Other Stock Market Holidays This Year
After today, the next market holiday will be on the first of next month, i.e. May 1. Due to Maharashtra Day, a holiday will be in the market on May 1. After that, on June 17, the market will remain closed on the occasion of Bakrid. There will be a Muharram holiday in the stock market on July 17. The market will remain closed on August 15 on Independence Day. Similarly, there will be market holidays on Gandhi Jayanti on October 2, Diwali on November 1, Guru Nanak Jayanti on November 15 and Christmas on December 25.
