India Left Japan Behind
The Lowy Institute has released the 2024 Asia Power Index, in which the United States is in first place with 81.7 points. China is second with 72.7 points, India is third with 39.1 points, and Japan is now fourth with 38.9 points. Australia is fifth with 31.9 points, and Russia is sixth with 31.1 points. India’s points have increased by 2.8, bringing it to third place in the Asia Power Index.

Due to India’s large population and strong GDP, India is now the third largest economy in the world regarding purchasing power parity.
