IT Job Market Sees Bright Spots; These Companies Lead College Placements

The IT sector has been going through difficult times for the last year. Many big IT companies have laid off employees on a large scale. Along with this, a big decline has also been recorded in campus placements. However, some companies have successfully provided jobs despite weak campus placements.

According to a report published in the Economic Times, amid weak IT placements, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Accenture have hired engineering graduates on a large scale in 2024.

TCS Gave Maximum Jobs

According to the Economic Times, Tata Consultancy Services has offered the maximum number of jobs in college placement in the campus placement of 2024. TCS has offered placements to 10 per cent of the bench of 9000 students at Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), the country’s largest private engineering college. At the same time, the company has also done campus placements on a large scale at SRM Institute, Chennai.

According to the information from the Director of SRM Institute, TCS has offered packages ranging from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 9 lakh to the students. Even in the year 2023, TCS had done a total of more than 3500 campus placements through VIT and SRM. Apart from TCS, Accenture has also done a lot of college hiring this year. According to the news of Economic Times, Accenture has hired more than 150 students in SRM.

Hiring Will Continue In Future Also

Given information about future placement plans, TCS Chief Executive K Krithivasan said the company will continue the hiring process. He said that the company has no plans to reduce its hiring numbers, but it may make some changes in its hiring phase.
