According to the survey conducted by the traders’ organization, people made purchases worth more than Rs 50 thousand crore to celebrate Holi (Holi 2024). This figure is expected to increase further.

The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) survey revealed that Holi revived the market. The business people and the public fully supported the mission of Atmanirbhar Bharat. According to CAT data, the sale of Chinese goods remained sluggish on Holi. A business worth more than Rs 5000 crore has been done in the national capital, Delhi.
People Do Not Want To Buy Chinese Goods
CAT’s National General Secretary Praveen Khandelwal said that after the violent clash in Galvan Valley in 2020, the people have an unfavourable attitude towards the goods made in China. Earlier customers used to ask only for cheap Chinese goods. But now, his thinking has changed. Its clear impact was visible on Holi shopping. Boycott of Chinese products is going on. CAT also wants to free India from goods made in China.
