Flight Service Begins for Somnath Jyotirlinga; Direct Flights from Ahmedabad Start

It will now be easier for common people to visit Somnath Jyotirlinga because devotees will no longer depend only on rail or road to reach it. Flight service has now started for Somnath, which will be available from Keshod airport in Junagadh district, which is the nearest to here. Somnath Jyotirlinga is also a part of Somnath Gir district near Junagadh in Gujarat.

Now, devotees visiting Somnath temple can use a direct flight from Ahmedabad to Keshod. Shri Somnath Trust, which manages the Somnath temple, has also started a big service for devotees. The trust will provide a free pickup bus service from the airport to Somnath temple for visitors landing at Keshod airport.

Flight Service Will Be Available Three Times A Week

Gujarat government unit Gujarat Pavitra Yatradham Vikas Board informed that flight service between Ahmedabad-Keshod will be available three days a week. This flight service will run on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. This flight will take off from Ahmedabad at 10.10 am and reach Keshod at 10.55 am. Then, the same flight will depart from Keshod at 1.15 pm and return to Ahmedabad at 2.30 pm. In such a situation, those passengers who want to return after visiting Somnath in less time will also benefit.

PM Modi Is The Chairman Of The Trust

PM Narendra Modi is the chairman of Shri Somnath Trust, which manages the Somnath temple. This initiative to provide convenience to the passengers was decided during the meeting of Somnath Trust held under his chairmanship. The airport built in Keshod of Junagadh is about 55 km from the Somnath temple in Prabhas Patan city of Gir Somnath. The distance of Somnath temple from Ahmedabad is about 400 km.

While the residents of Gujarat will benefit from this air travel, the devotees visiting from other parts of the country can plan their journey by reaching Ahmedabad. They can complete the journey to Somnath from Ahmedabad as soon as possible. Somnath Temple, built on the coast of the Arabian Sea, is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of the country.
