The Country’s First ‘Vande Metro’ Will Start From Here, This Will Be The Fare

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the country’s first Vande Metro on Monday. The first Vande Metro from Ahmedabad to Bhuj in Gujarat will completely change inter-city travel. When PM Modi is in Ahmedabad, the train will start from Bhuj and reach Ahmedabad after covering a distance of 359 km in 5.45 hours. Its regular service for passengers will start from Ahmedabad on September 17, and the fare for travelling by this train will be Rs 455. While other metros cover only short distances, Vande Metro trains will connect peripheral cities to the city centre.

What Is The Speed Of The Train

The Railway Ministry provided comprehensive details of the country’s Vande Metro and other metros. Vande Metro runs at a maximum speed of 110 km/h. According to the ministry, with ergonomically designed seats, fully air-conditioned cabins, and modular interiors, Vande Metro will be better than other metros. Highlighting safety aspects, the Railway Ministry said that Vande Metro is equipped with advanced safety systems such as Kavach for collision avoidance, fire detection, aerosol-based fire suppression, and emergency lights.

1150 Passengers In 12 Coaches

The ministry said that Vande Metro uses state-of-the-art technology, including under-slung propulsion and advanced braking systems, which allow passengers to travel without hassle. With 12 coaches with a seating capacity of 1,150 passengers, Vande Metro provides many new facilities. The ministry said it has double-leaf automatic sliding doors and fully sealed flexible gangways similar to urban metro trains, ensuring dust-free, quiet and rain-proof interiors.

These Are The Facilities In Vande Metro

According to the ministry, Vande Metro has a modular design that includes ejector-vacuum evacuation toilets compared to traditional suburban trains and metro coaches. Vande Metro is designed to connect cities within a radius of 150 km, providing efficient and comfortable travel of about 3 to 4 hours. Passengers can commute to Vande Metro. The ministry said semi-permanent couplers are present, similar to Vande Bharat trains.

Also, passengers do not get any shock on the train. These trains have Type-C and Type-A sockets for charging mobile phones for passengers. For extra safety, CCTV and route-map indicators are included above the doors.
