EaseMyTrip Entered The Aviation Sector, Bought 49% Stake In Big Charter

EaseMyTrip: EaseMyTrip, India’s leading online travel platform, has announced the acquisition of a 49% stake in Big Charter Private Limited to make its presence felt in the charter aviation sector. The acquisition marks EaseMyTrip’s entry into the fast-growing charter aviation sector, enabling the company to provide more flexible, convenient and premium air travel solutions for high-net-worth individuals (HNIs), corporations and event travellers.

Growing Potential Of Charter Aviation Market In India

The charter aviation industry in India is currently valued at around US $650.5 million and is projected to reach US $1.14 billion by 2033. The major reason for this expansion is the growing demand for corporate travel, private flights and regional connectivity. Globally, the charter aviation industry is poised to reach a market value of over US $33 billion by 2033. This strategic acquisition of EaseMyTrip will allow the company to strengthen its position in charter services and non-scheduled operator permit (NSOP) operations and take advantage of opportunities in the high-margin market.

EaseMyTrip’s Technology Will Boost Charter Bookings

EaseMyTrip plans to make the charter booking and pricing process more transparent by integrating its cutting-edge technology into Big Charter’s existing operations. This will provide customers faster, more convenient and more affordable charter services. Expressing his happiness over the acquisition, Nishant Pitti, Co-Founder and Chairman of EaseMyTrip, said, “This partnership is a big step towards making charter air travel more accessible across India. By combining EaseMyTrip’s cutting-edge technology with Big Charter’s established expertise, we are set to revolutionize the Indian charter aviation market.”

Big Charter’s Strong Market Presence And Future Plans

Big Charter Private Limited has emerged as a leading regional connectivity and NSOP operations company. In the financial year 2023-24, the company generated revenue of Rs 128.75 crore (about US$15.5 million), which will likely grow rapidly. Sanjay Mandaviya, director of Big Charter, also called this acquisition a game-changer. He said, “By leveraging EaseMyTrip’s vast customer base and technical expertise, we are set to increase the efficiency of our services and provide more accessible charter air travel across the country.”

EaseMyTrip’s Mission: Making Charter Travel More Accessible

Through this acquisition, EaseMyTrip plans to strengthen its presence in tier-2 and tier-3 cities, where Big Charter already has a strong network. This strategy will ensure the long-term growth of EaseMyTrip and contribute to the broader growth of the Indian charter aviation sector.
