Infosys founder NR Narayana Murthy had asked the youth of India to work 70 hours weekly, to which former BharatPe co-founder Ashneer Grover has reacted. Ashneer Grover, writing on the X (formerly Twitter) social media platform, said the public must have been angry with his words.
Ashneer Grover said that the general public might not have taken this statement of Narayana Murthy very well because work is still being judged based on time spent at the workplace rather than results. Grover further wrote that the second thing is that people feel as if the laziness of the youth is stopping India from developing.
More Issues To Be Angry About: Grover
Grover jokingly said that in India, there are issues to be angry about, like caste, religion and cricket. He wrote that being angry over cricket, religion, caste, or language unites us.
I think junta got offended here because work is still being measured in ‘hours’ than ‘outcome’. The other thing is people feeling as if youngster’s laziness is only thing keeping India from becoming developed.
Funny – getting offended unites us more than cricket, religion,… https://t.co/hAai4UOgwU

What Did Narayana Murthy Say
It is noteworthy that while speaking in the initial episode of 3one4 Capital’s podcast ‘The Record’, Narayana Murthy expressed concern over India’s low work capacity and suggested to the people that if the country has to compete with the global power, then the youth should be trained at every level. Must work 70 hours a week.
Bhavish Aggarwal Agreed
This statement of the Infosys founder received support from Ola Electric CEO Bhavish Aggarwal, and he ultimately agreed with him. Ashneer Grover completely disagrees with this statement of Murthy.
