Adani Ports is exploring the possibility of operating ports in many countries. Adani Group may soon build a port in Vietnam to increase its share in international trade. This will be its fourth international port. The company acquired ports in Haifa, Israel; Colombo, Sri Lanka; and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
Approval Received From Vietnam Government To Develop Port In Da Nang
According to a Bloomberg report, the port built in Vietnam will help the Adani Group develop trade infrastructure around India. Along with this, new opportunities will also be created for the company. Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited (APSEZ) is India’s largest port operator company. Karan Adani, MD of the company and elder son of Gautam Adani said during an interview that he had received approval from the Vietnamese government to develop a port in Da Nang.
Preparations Are On To Double The International Operation
Karan Adani said we want to make India the centre of maritime trade. We want to reach those countries where manufacturing and population is high. With the help of this, consumption will increase. Exports are expected to grow from these countries. The cost of building a port in Vietnam cannot be estimated accurately. According to the report, Adani Ports currently gets about 5 percent of its total trade from international operations. He wants to bring this figure to 10 percent by the year 2030.
Vizinjam Port Of Kerala May Start This Year
Karan Adani said that the company works at Vizhinjam Port in Kerala. Its first phase will be completed by December. Adani Group and Kerala government are investing Rs 20,000 crore in this port. This port will be fully ready by the year 2028-29. This project was supposed to start in 2018 but was delayed due to a delay in getting land. With the help of this port, India will be able to compete with Dubai, Singapore and Sri Lanka.
